The ISSAM - Advanced Institute of Automobile Sciences of Modena, Italy was founded by designer Doro Marotta in the year 1971 with the aim of creating a school of advance didactic level for young high school graduates who have a passion for cars, basing the scientific disciplines of study on one specific line - the designing of an automobile.
Once establishing clearly the division of the two courses that characterize the institute,
- the course of automotive sciences
- AUTOMOTIVE -
with the instruction and the study of the materials inherent
to
the calculation, the planning and the basic construction of
the mechanical parts of an automobile (motor, suspensions and chassis),
- and
the course of stylistic sciences,
- STYLE -
with the instruction and the study of the materials relative
to
the style design of an automobile (sedan, sport, and industrial),
the ISSAM, in November 1971, began its first academic year.
